    can buy and they live in clean gaudy-coloured caravans drawn by the famous Clydesdale horses. They usually sell dear up-to-date articles such as jewellery, spectacles and dear laces of every description. Undoubtedly they are very friendly even to strangers and describe to them about all their wanderings and the different types of people with which they have come in contact.
    Travelling folk are not as welcome now to the houses as they were in days gone by. Long ago people prepared a good healthy meal for them at a glowing crackling fire, listened to their interesting stories and sympathised with them in their trials and troubles, and, if
