  1. There are two stone serpents in the townland of "Knocknapeist" (?) which is about half a mile from Eastersnow a (?) from the road leading to Ardcarne. In Irish " Cnoc na bPiast " which means hill of the Serpents.
    These serpents used to jump from hill to hill and devour people they met. St Patrick heard of these serpents. He was told not to go near them, but he cared not. He met the serpents
