sight. A white man was followed by a huge black man and both were running as fast as they could, and soon they passed out of sight. The two men under the bridge continued their journey in great fear. When they arrived at Castlegrace church-yard they saw the white man sitting on the wall. He came forward and told them that the man who followed him was the devil and God gave as a penance for his sins to run a race with the devil. if he arrived at Castlegrace churchyard first he should go to heaven but if the devil defeated him he would go to Hell.
