    retinue but found the drawbridge raised and no means of admission for himself or his followers. He called on William to admit him but William appearing on the wall of the caslte, and told him his wife absolutely forbad his admission. This angered Richard very much and he said he was prepared to fight his way in.
    A bettle was then fought beween the brothers resulting in the death of many both outside and inside the wall and William himself was killed his head being separated from his body. Then William's wife seeing her husband dead was intensely sorry for all the trouble she had caused and she came to terms with Richard.
