    by means of a hammer and chisel. Then a rim called a ring of felloes was put on and then mounted by the smith with an iron band.
    Ropes were made from horses hair twisted and platted. Some were made from flax. The flax used to be cut and made into sheaves. After a week it used to be steeped in a bog hole. Then they would take it up and dry it and leave it up until it matture. Then they would dry it and clove it with cloving tongs.
    They cloved it very fine and twist it and made it into ropes.
