hilly place. Somewhere here about the Sleady treasure was supposed to be hidden. About two years ago some men repairing a fence near Curragh Clonagh found in the centre of an old wide stone fence a large well-built tunnel-like space about 8 feet long, 4 feet high and 3 feet wide, fixed in the side was a large flagstone, no doubt used as an entrance. The men were wild with excitement and expectation of what they might find, thinking of hidden treasure, Sleady included, but alas, were doomed to disappointment, finding nothing.
