People say if you go under a ladder you will never grow any bigger.
If you are hit with with a bare tree they say you will never grow any bigger.
If you see magpies together 1 for sorrow 2 for joy 3 for a wedding and 4 a boy
If you dream of a death it will be a marriage and if you dream of a marriage you will hear of a death.
If you sew on a Sunday you will have to rip it out on the last day with your nose.
The day before Ash Wednesday is called Pancake day and it is said you should leave a ? and a slice of toast for a ghost that comes round.
Put 2 nuts on the bar of the grate and roast them and if one springs away from the other the boy you are in love with will leave you alone.
People say if you eat sweets from 10 o'clock to eleven on Ash Wednesday you will be put out of your home when you are eighteen years of age.
If you are at a wedding and you don't kiss the brides wee finger you will never have a lot of luck.
