- Priest-hunting was carried on in every district. There was a Mass Rock in the townland of Kespanduff where the hunted priests said Mass.
A man named Ronkard who lived in the townland of Baugh, Cootehill, Co. Cavan was a Squire. Any Catholic that a yeoman brought before him was hanged. There were priest-hunters who betrayed the priests also. When the priests would be saying Mass someone would watch on the hill for the coming of the soldiers. In those days five pounds was given to anyone who would bring in the head of a priest.- Collector
