  1. On May Eve if you did not shake hole water in the gardens the fairies will take your crops.
    It is not lucky to throw out ashes on New Years day, or a woman should not be the first into a house on New Year's morning, because the people would have no luck that year.
    You should not eat a blackberry after Hallow Eve night because the Devil spits on them.
    You should not go into a fort during May because the fairies would take you.
    If you find a safety-pin and spit on it you will have good luck for the day.
    If your right eye is itchy it is the sign you will be soon getting a stranger shake hands.
