- This is another erection of the Mc. Namara's. A battle was fought there once between this Clan and the Desmonds. The Mc. Namaras were defeated but in recovering their forces the pursued the Desmonds overtook them near New-Market, and slaughtered them.
In recent times say fifty or sixty years ago, this Castle was used as a police barracks. Now it is derilict.
