- St Bridgets feast falls on the first of Febuary every year. It is not a holiday but still old customs are kept up. Long ago the young people used to dress up a sod of turf and they used to get four sticks for a pair of hands and feet and they used to make a little dress as some poor people could not afford to buy a doll.
