- The people of this district grow about an acre of potatoes each. They plough the land first and they then grub it. The ploughing is done now with an iron plough but long ago it was done with a wooden plough. Tom Neary is the only one in the district that has a wooden plough at present. The land is some times manured with lime. Lime is made by burning limestone in a lime kiln.(continues on next page)
