  1. St. Bridgets Day falls on the first of February every year. It is not a holiday of obligation. Long ago all the young people dressed up a sod of turf and sayed it was a Brídeóg. They used to dress up themselves and go around to the houses gathering money. Every house they went into the people of the house saying to them they would give them no money
