    On St John's night which is the night before St. John's Day each family (have) a Bonefire of its own to honour St. John.
    For weeks before Bonefire night the boys of each family are busy gathering bogdeal all sorts of timber and whin and choosing the dryest turf. At night fall all the children go to the place the bonefire is
