- Long ago people used make a churning on May Day before the sun rose. They used cut a round tree rod and make it round and put it into the lid of the churn. The people now (makes) the churn on May eve. There is nothing let out while the churn is making. It is said that it isn't right to throw out dirty water while a churn is making.
