- The Cloak The people long ago used to wear a cloak as we wear an overcoat. It resembled a sleeveless coat. It had a hood which could be drawn over the head. The cloak was made from wool, which was carded, spun and woven at home.
The Petticoat. The women used to wear a red flannel petticoat. It was made from wool which was spun and woven at home.
