    There are many signs of weather told by animals and birds and many other articles.
    Snow was expected when a blackbird was seen breaking a snail box against a stone to get the snail out of it, or to see robin standing on the window stool. It would be the sign of a storm when the hens stay on the roost and don't come to their food. Rain was expected when a cat was sitting with his tail to the fire and he was winking or to see him scraping a stick or climbing a tree.
