    to go to bed the old man went to bolt the door. He thought he heard a low moan but as the night was dark he saw nothing and he thought to himself it was the wind, but as he was about to close the door he again heard the moan louder than the first time.
    He asked his wife to light the lantern to see what was outside and when he went out he saw a little distance away from the door an old man half covered with snow.
    When he went towards him the poor old man was not able to
