  1. When the "Black and Tans" were in Ireland there was a policeman in the Killarney barrack where the "Tans" were staying.
    He was on patrol duty walking up and down the street. He passed a carpenter's shop, and as he was passing the window he saw a coffin inside. There was a name and age on the breastplate. It was a policeman who was living in the same barrack, and he knew him well.
