    Potato-cake was made from potatoes, flour, salt and new milk. Brown bread was made with brown flour. the bread in the olden times used to be made every day. The people made a cross of the bread. The name of the vessel which they bake the bread in was called a griddle. The griddle was left up on the brand on the fire.
