Local Cures.
In olden times doctors were not as numerous as at the present time. Even the old people never believed in them for nearly everyone had cures of which often proved to be more successful than the doctors remedies.
For instance, the oldest drawing cure for boils was brown soap and sugar; also fresh cobblers wax; or three poultices of cow dung.
