is a story told of a woman walked nine or ten miles a day for a bag of bread for the people, and all she got was a penny a day. The old people were better walkers than the young people.
Now in Ireland hardly anyone walks any distance, the most of the people go in a motor, or a train, or a bus. Of course some people walk a distance of about three or four miles, but no one can beat the old people long ago.
