"By the virtue of my oath your Worship" replied the girl, turning towards the judge "it would not be worth my while to split his skull open." Her questioner thinking that her answer was hinting at him because his life was insured asked. "And why did you imagine that it would not be work your while to split my skull open?" "Faith sure" replied the girl it was because I was sure I'd find nothing in it."
At this remark a general burst of lalughter shook the building and it lasted so long and was so derisive that this examiner asked no more questions and he and his comrades had to pay a heavy fine both to Mr Lett for the damage rendered to his window and to the girl for assaulting her(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
