  1. There's a cook in the farm house
    near Halloran's Rock and he never stops crowing;
    And any cook they get is always at it.
    There is something bad in the water there ; and
    they say the cook is always warning. Long ago
    a great monster was in it and he used often
    be seen coming out on the inch grazinf.
    Wan time a soldier dived off the rock in
    the water and he never came up nor the
    body ever recovered.

  2. If you dont interfere or meddle with the
    fairies they often do a good turn. They would
    guide one going home at night and protect
    them from harm
    There is a rath at Tobar a' Dúin and long
    ago when we were children going to school
    our mother and (every other mother) used to shake
    rain on us the way the fairies couldn't
    harm us
    When they were building the pump at Tobar
    a' dúin the whole thing used be (?)
    down every morning. They watched it and twas
