    There was a man lived near Carrigbyrnne by the name of Tom Gleeson

    There was a man lived near Carrigbyrnne by the name of Tom Gleeson. He got married into a place and the wife had a big farm of land. They were married for seven years but had no children. Then a son was born to them, and tehy christened him Jim. Jim got to be a very witty little fellow but he never grew to be any size, and he knew everything that was going on for miles and miles around. He was a "fright" at cards before he was four years old, and has all the [?] your could mention. He would run up the wall of the house and kick the loft, or run up the side of a rick of hay on to the top of it. He was always doing tricks of the most dangerous kind, and his mother was always in dread he
