    Linen Making
Every family grew flax and in many houses a flax wheel was at work. Flax was pulled and steeped for a week or ten days in a bog hole stones being used to keep it from floating. It was then taken up and spread on the bank to dry then taken home and dried over a fire made for the purpose then beetled, scutched, cloved, hackled and spun into thread.
