When a meeting in Belcarra was proclaimed, and a large force of police attended to prevent its being held; Tommie brought his band up stairs in his own house in the centre of the village; and they rattled away at "The Peel & The Goat" in their "seven bests", until the police becoming enraged burst in the door of the house charged up stairs and attacked the Bandsmen, trying to rip open the drum with their penknives.
