“In the olden times weddings were performed in a different manner than they are nowadays...”
(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)arrived home a great wedding awaited them and crowds of people from the neighbourhood were invited to it. In those days there were harps and bagpipes and other amusements for the youngsters while the old people enjoyed themselves in singing songs. It was also customary for a crowd of boys to come dressed in straw to the wedding house asking for porter.
These boys were called Clacharachas and each crowd had a captain. When the porter was drank they were ordered to dance and sing and this done they went away satisfied.(gan teideal)
