- Most of the houses before now were built with mud and heath, and I will relate to you how they used to build them.
When they had the foundation dug they got daub and heath. The first layer was daub and the second layer was heath, and so on until the walls were made.
They then got bog splinters and laid them across the walls. They then put scraws on that, some of them put heath on top of that. They had not cement floors such as they have now, but floor made of daub and mud, they had not chimneys then(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
