- I was talking with my mother last night about our fields. She told me we had about twelve fields, Garra Dubh, Píosa an Tobar, The Cnocan, Garrdha Na Bhplanndaí, Garndha a hóra, Mochaire, Piece of rushes, The Garrdha Mhór, The Mountain field. The garrdha Bheag, Sean -t Sraid, Garrdha móna.
Garrdha Dubh is called so because it was the black garden. Píosa an Tobar is called so because there is a well in the field. The Crocán is called so because there is a hill in the field. Garrdha na bhplanndaí is called so because plants used to be sown there. I could not get any meaning for Garrdha na hóna or Mochaire Piece of rushes is called so because rushes grow in it.
