- This is a story that the teacher told us about a mer-maid.
One day a man that was near the sea saw the mer-maid sitting on a rock combing her hair. She wore a brat over her shoulders, but she had it off when she was combing her hair.
The man went over near her and stole the brat from her. She followed him, because she could not go back to the sea without it. He hid the brat in a stack of corn. He married the mer-maid then and they had three sons.
One day their mother was looking for the brat and one of the sons said that he saw his daddy(continues on next page)- Collector
