2. When a lot of cats go together on a stack of oats and if there came a storm, the people would say, it was the cats that brought the storm, and would not let those cats in for the whole day. If they could lay hold of these same cats they would punish them "for bringing on the storm". I have heard of one poor cat that was put under a pot for the whole day, and when the pot was lifted off him in the evening, the poor cat was nearly smothered.
