A Story
“There is a story told about two boys from Steelaun who were great with a girl in Ross, Killala.”
There is a story told about two boys from Steelaun who were great with a girl in Ross, Killala. I do not know their names but one of them was a Catholic and the other a Protestant.
They had a boat to cross over the river between Steelaun and Ross. One of them was jealous of the other so they had a terrible battle. The Catholic boy said that he would not be afraid of the protestant dead or alive.
They had such a fight that the Protestant boy died from the injuries which he received from the other boy during the fight(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
