   thatcher by trade as were many of the Finns before before him. These men had implements as well. The thatchers needle the mallet, the shears and a knive. There was only one person who made sugarsticks her name was Mrs. Brett. The sugarsticks used to be over a foot long. She used melt brown sugar into a gallon and keep dippling a thread up and down in it until it was made.

   There were two good wheel-wrights in Clonea. There names were Bill Meehan and James Meara. The implements these men had were much the same tools as the cooper but the wheel-wright had the wheel stool and the lathe and some others.

   There was a family of Murphys and some of them were Blacksmiths. Ned and Martin were great for making spades, ploughs, billhooks, gates and lots of other things. They lived near Clonea school.
