jumped into the well lifted her out but when he did so she was dead.
When he was away down at the well (and put it into the fire,) Roccy got an iron and put it into the fire, and kept in there until it was very hot, and when the giant was coming in the door she ran and stuck the iron in his head and he died immediately.
On the following morning the three girls buried the man and woman Roccy got the cloak of darkness, and kept it in her own room always. At night she could the daylight out through the cloak of darkness. The other two girls got the “chiming bells” and in the morning the bells used to ring at seven o clock and put up the three girls. The three girls lived happy together ever after the giant and his wife died, and they lived to a very old age and Roccy was the last to die, although she came through many adventures.
