The man said he had no way to keep him so he went away and he saw a barn a short distance from the Castle and a little light inside. He was sure there was some one living in it. He lay down on a lump of straw. In a short time a man walked in and started stared[?] at him. This man stayed until break of day. He thought John was asleep and went up to the fire side and
