There is a sphynk in the townland of Meenagowan it is bordering a lake. The school children used to pull the water lilies for the teacher. One morning two boys Robert Elliott and John Elliott were going out into the lake to pull lilies when they werte out they heard a fiddle playing in the sphynx.
