    Long ago after the marriage there was generally a striving match to the girl's home. A bottle of whiskey was the prize usually given to the person who would arrive first. This of course he would not take home with him but divide amoungst the guests present.
    In the night "strawboys" come in and amuse the young couple by singing and dancing. First of all when they go in the captain takes the bride out for a dance and his wife takes the bridegroom (the captain is supposed to have his wife with him.) The "strawboys" dress very neatly with long white dresses and straw
