In the mountains the people always killed their own cattle, sheep and cows. This was much cheaper than buying the meat from the butcher. It was a very common thing in the mountains for two men to go out and kill a sheep on a Saturday night.
A vain was cut in the sheep's neck. It was then pulled up to the ceiling with a rope and left there to bleed. It was then ready for Sundays dinner. Before cups were invented wooden mugs, and bowls were used. The buckets were not as they are now but they were made of wood.
