Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)was done several times until the right thickness was obtained. Tallow candles came into use after rush candles. The piths of the rushes were used for wicks for these candles also. The piths were put into moulds and tallow was poured into the moulds also. Then they were left to cool, and when they were hard enough the moulds were overturned and the candles fell out. These candles did not show as good a light as the candles we use now.
The tallow candles did not melt as quickly as the rush candles did.- Bailitheoir
