When the English were following him it was to this rock that he went to for to be safe. But in spite of all his efforts, he was caught and killed by the soldiers.Aughterlin (a townland about two or three miles from here) is important in history on account of a priest who hid in it during the Penal times. There is a mass rock on the eight green(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
