- Severe WeatherThere was a big wind in 1894 which did a lot of damage. Two men, a father and his son, named John Arnolds, were sitting at the fire when a big tree fell on the house and killed them. Their address was Corraghamone. This happened on the 20th December. The wind stripped the thatch of our barn and tumbled some corn into the river. A lot of stacks were tossed. The wind took the roofs off a lot of houses and did a lot of destruction.
