Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)which saves removing the lid as the milk sticks to the glass until the milk is not churned sufficiently.
There is a "Press-down" on the lid too, to let the air escape for at first when the churning is begun there is a certain amount of air in it.
On the bottom of the churn there is a round piece of iron for holding warm water which keeps the milk warm but does not mix with the milk.
In the summer we usually churn twice a week and once in winter, and the churning takes about a hour.
