- These houses had thatched roofs in former times.
The thatched was cut in the bogs. The old houses had a bed in the kitchen. It was placed in the back of the kitchen there was a place built in the wall for it, and it was called an out-shot.
The fire-place was at the gable. The chimney was made of mortar and stones
