   was taught at a night-school himself by Maste McMorrough. There is an old man in Cregnahorna called Michael O Donnell. He is a fair-sized man with grey hair and he lives in a thatched house along the road. We call him Mickie Phil for a nick name. He has no farm or cattle. I went to his house one night and he told there was a man in his house called John McEleney. He used to live in the Isle of Doagh and he came to Michael O Donnell's as a labouring man and then he went to the Crimean war. Then he went to Scotland. John McEleney was a tall man with dark hair. There are fifteen families in Cregnahorna and eighty-eight people.

   Some people who used to live in Cregnahorna are in America, England and Canada. Most of the people are working. Some send the money home and others save it. The first who left Cregnahorna was Kate Doherty and Mary O'Donnell. They went to America and were eighteen weeks sailing. They had to bake all their food for their journey before they left. They paid three shillings for a drink of water and a piece of bread. They went to America to earn
