If the groom did not live near she was brought home on horse-back. That night a dance was held in the groom's house. It was unlucky for the bride to go home inside a month after she was taken to the groom's house.
The bride's-cake was usually [?]. Inside the cake is a ring, a button, and a match. The next door neighbour woman would make the wedding make. This cake would be made of oat meal and baked on a "griddle" by the side of a turf fire. The woman that made the cake cut the cake on the wedding night.
In olden time people did not believe in putting the cake under the pillow and dreaming on it, same as nowadays(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
