1. Local Poems - The Glen Moss

   

   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   The Glen Moss
   I
   The mossing time has now begun,
   I'm sure we will have plenty fun,
   And may many a time on the road we will jog,
   Till we are finished with the bog.

   II
   I, remember, though I was boy,
   I hailed it as a morning's joy.
   When the orders were given yoke the horse
   This day is fitting for the moss.

   III
   When on our track you'll plainly see
   We pass the little town of Bree,
   Where men grow fair and maidens rare
   We smell the sweet and scented air.

   IV
   To beat that track we hit it hard,
   And we topped the heights of Dunagard
   When we come to the hill known as the skull
   We sight the Isle of Innishtrahull.

   V
   And as we pass along Glackmore
   We see the Town of Medianmore
   Where there is a place known as the pill,
   And close by it is the picture hill.
