- The most harmful weed on the farm in our district is the cockles. It is very harmful because it grows in the middle of the crop and spreads all over it and destroys it. When the nettle is boiled the juice should be taken and it is said that it will cure any rash that comes out on your body or on your face. The milk out of the dandelion will cure warts. Long ago the doctors made ointment from the thistle and used it for all sorts of wounds.
