Folklore
31st October 1938There were once two young men and they were very fond of going into wakes. Everybody was priacing them beause they used to be at every wake. One night they were coming home from a wake, and they had great fun.
One man said to the other that whichever one of them would die first, the other one would have to come to his wake. Then they went off in two different directions and they were miles and miles away from each other. One man went into a house looking for work. The man of the house asked him was he able to thatch, and he said he was. Then he put him out thatching. He was a great thatcher, and the man of the house was praising him. When he was a few days thatching he heard a voice saying that his companion was dead, and that there was going to be a wake that night. He got ready and went to his wake. He waited that night at the house where his companion was dead, and he went to his funeral next day. Then he went hom and about a week after that he died. A great many people went to his funeral next(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
