In the morning they had stirabout, for dinner they had potatoes and butter-milk and for supper they boxty made of potatoes and flour. Potatoes were not eaten at every meal. Milk was drunk, butter-milk and new milk.
The table was placed near the wall anybody that had one. It was never hung against the wall.
Oaten meal bread was eaten. It was made with warm water, salt and meal. It was baked in a griddle.
Meat was seldom eaten any time the had meat, bacon they had.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
